Where do you go when there's no one you know there?

The fog, the night, the street again.
A 20$ bill and a purse in her hand.
She had left Hastings on her way to something
But these Broad Streets have offered nothing.
The betterness she had in mind
Something that she never finds.
A peace and a state that seems out of mind.
Out of the fog and out of the night
Finally a face she could recognize.

Where do you go when there's no one you know there?

Some days, perspective's not enough.
She stayed on my couch for quite some time now.
She opened up enough to let herself let go.

She told me all along, on the couch, the light on.
